Humans

The race with the largest population and an expansionist attitude, humans are known for their dedication and curiosity as well as for their aggressiveness and inconstancy. Their cultural diversity and ability to adapt to almost any environment are famous. Humans have shown great skill at technical developments, but they often seem to be ignorant to the needs of their environment and neighbours. They are enduring and tough, their high reproduction rate allows them to survive even great catastrophes and spread out over the lands. They raise great kingdoms and worship the old gods of the North.

During character creation players may raise the attributes Creativity (CRE) and Willpower (WIL) cheaper than usually. Buying +1 costs 2 CP and +2 costs 5 CP, higher attributes cost normal CP.
Albyr

Known as Aelflingar to the people of the North. One of the oldest races on Solas are the inhabitants of the Wild Woods in the West. They are shorter than humans and of lighter build, but almost as tough as them and definitely more agile. Their culture is tribal and very family oriented, they don’t build large fiefs and concentrate on surviving in the harsh enviroment of the ancient forests. They are reclusive and not very friendly towards humans, who have tried again and again to cut down their trees and drive them out of their home area.

During character creation players may raise the attributes Perception (PER) and Psyche (PSY) at a cheaper cost. Buying +1 costs 2 CP and +2 costs 5 CP, higher attributes cost normal CP.
Aelfling characters may not begin the game with Build (BLD) or Knowledge (KNO) higher than +1.
Trólls

Members of this half-human race living in the eastern hills are a rare sight in human cities. Distrusted and feared due to their powerful build and bad temper most humans and other races avoid contact with them. A Tróll is a powerful and resilient humanoid at least 2-3 heads taller than humans. They are considered to be bloodlusty and slow-witted but actually their society is quite peaceful and they have a deep knowledge and understanding of nature. Their forging skills are greatly appreciated by the other races.
Tróll characters are less prone to diseases and infections, they may add +1 to any Health test for catching a disease. They use a special limited form of magic – Ritual Tattoos. Characters start the game with one Rune Tattoo of their choice.

Dvergar

Dvergar are stout and powerful humanoids about half the height of humans but with typically much wider physique. They are fierce warriors and valiant defenders of their homes in the valleys of the Dragon Ridge Mountains. They are talented architects and stone masons, building large cathedrals and halls into the mountains. Their mines deliver a large portion of the ores and minerals required by smiths all over the continent. They are known for their wealth, their aversion to strangers and their and her honest but radical views.

Dvergar may not start the game with Build (BLD) or Appearance (APP) higher than +2.
Dvergar are known for their great talents of creating enchanted items of daily use (like Glow Crystals) or mighty weapons. A starting dvergur character may select an enchanted minor item or weapon of his or her choice.
Chorvar

The ancient, mysterious and secretive Chorvar live on the secluded island of Charbra. Not much is known about them and they are feared by most for their deep insight into magic and dark arts. They are formidable warriors and talented sorcerers with an unrivaled knowledge about the secrets of the Elders. Very seldom do Chorvar travel the mainland in search of lost ruins or secrets and they usually do not care much about the concerns of other people. They worship different darker gods and do not share their secret wisdom with the younger races they deem inferior or unworthy.
